			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The typical question asked when acquiring a new projector for the home, office, or classroom is: should I take an LCD projector or a DLP projector? LCD, which stands for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, short for ‘digital light processing’ are the two most common projector imaging technologies. With so many brands and different models available, it can be confusing for clients to choose between both technologies. Ultimately LCD projectors give better image quality and colour accuracy. The article below will tell you why DLP projectors struggle with reproducing a comparable standard of image quality.</p>
<p>Imagine a set of blinds in your house on your bedroom window. By pulling on a rod you can have the shutters open or closed, depending on whether you want to let light in or not. This is exactly how an LCD projector behaves. Each pixel functions like an individual shutter on a set of blinds to either send light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is made up of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as the professionals like to call them. Each pixel element functions to either reflect light or block it.</p>
<p>How the light source is processed from the point at which the projector turns on to when the picture reaches your screen is ultimately important for image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors project white light from the lamp by separating it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which send the coloured light to 3 separate LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels form the elements of the image by processing each pixel on and off. The pixels are then combined in a glass prism to create the projector image. A significant point to know about LCD projectors is that all three colours are delivered onto your projected surface at once. The way a DLP projector functions is totally different and even how an image appears is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is processed through a rotating colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This way of projecting an image requires a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors as described above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to create the image elements. The elements of the image are cast in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer&#8217;s eye will then pull together each coloured element of the image into a single whole image. Using LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to form high brightness and great colour accuracy. In DLP, just one colour is available at once, and so causing lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some DLP developers have placed a white segment for the colour wheel to improve all over brightness, but this then damages colour accuracy.</p>
<p>I hear in forums all the time that DLP provides a higher contrast ratio and ergo must be better. For those uncertain, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the projector is able to produce. DLP projectors do provide high contrast specifications when compared to most LCD projectors. At first glance, this appears to be a benefit, however, in real life, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room where the projector is being utilised. Do not be duped by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.</p>
<p>When the content you plan to project includes moving images, DLP projection technology also has image imperfections, or ‘artifacts’. The most typical artifact that a DLP projector forms with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is unavoidable in DLP systems because moving images change position between the time red, blue and green colours are pulled up. LCD projectors do not have this disadvantage because the colours are delivered at the same time. DLP developers have created 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to fix the colour break up error, but the price tag of these projectors make them impractical for most businesses and consumers.</p>
<p>Another variance between LCD and DLP is how they match the balance for the refractive qualities of light. Think back to high school science, and recall how various colours of light refract varied amounts when passing through the same lens. The problem with DLP projectors is that they take the one same panel with the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are not the same and refract light differently. Often with a DLP projector, some extra yellow colour will be projected above and a spill of blue will show below something as simple as a lone black line. While being built LCD projectors can be adapted to reduce these effects on the projected image, because each colour is refracted on a separate LCD panels.</p>
<p>The only veritable plus (excluding price) with choosing a DLP projector is its overall smaller size and weight. However, this is only relevant in regard to transporting the device and cannot be traded off against the image superiority of LCD projectors. If resulting picture quality is vital to you, then the decision is simple. Go for an LCD projector! LCD projectors will definitely produce bright, colourful images with fewer image mistakes. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the Dutch found preeminence in sea power during the 17th century, the initial yacht was a leisure craft used first by royalty and then by the burghers in the canals as well as the protected and unprotected waters of the Low Countries. Racing was incidental, arising as private challenges. English yachting originated with King Charles II of England during his exile in the Low Countries. On his return to the English monarchy in 1660, the city of Amsterdam sent him a 20-metre (66-foot) leisure boat with a beam (maximum width) of 5.6 m (18 feet), which he then named Mary. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, sovereign 1685–88), built more yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and returning, on a Â£100 bet. Yachting became classy for the wealthy and nobility, but after that period the trend did not last.</p>
<p>The first yacht association in the British Isles, the Water Club, was started in about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard organization, and had large naval panoply and formality. The closest thing to racing was the “chase,” in which the “fleet” pursued an imagined enemy. The club went on, for the large part as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, when conglomerating with other organisations, it became known as the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).</p>
<p>Yacht racing began in some organized method on the Thames around the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland instigated the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV ascended to sovereignty in 1820, it was known as the Fleet to His Majesty&#8217;s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded with a racing argument, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht organisation had been formed at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal patronage made the Solent - the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight - the perpetual setting of British yachting. The organisation at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, likewise at the rise of George IV. All members were required to own boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing races for great stakes were held, and the society life was lovely. It came to be that the Royal Yachting Club boats increased in size to over 350 tons.</p>
<p>In North America, yachting was first accomplished with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and persisted when the English took dominance. Sailing was for the most part for fun and rose to its apogee in George Crowinshield&#8217;s Cleopatra&#8217;s Barge (1815), which traveled on the Mediterranean Sea and created a benchmark of luxury and sophistication for the later yachts in those waters from the late 19th century. The first persisting American yacht club, the Detroit Boat Club, was formed in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens began the New York Yacht Club while on board his schooner Gimcrack.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of sailboats<br /></strong>The first sailing yachts were within the design of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century through the later half of the 19th century. The craft of bigger yachts was initially largely affected by the victory of America, which was drawn by George Steers for a association led by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America&#8217;s Cup (q.v.) had its namesake after its success at Cowes in 1851. Early yachts were not designed and crafted in today&#8217;s sense, with just a model for an outline. Not until the later half of the 19th century did what was called naval architecture come about. Not until the 1920s did the application of the research of aerodynamics do for the structure of sails and rigging what such study had earlier done for hulls.</p>
<p>Because nearly all sailboats had been individually built, there was a requirement for handicapping boats previous to the one-design class boats were built. Thus, a rating rule was decreed, which ended up in the International Rule, taken on in 1906 and revised in 1919. Today, one of the most rapidly growing areas in the sailing industry is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are built to standard specifications in length, beam, sail area, and other areas (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing between those boats can be had on an even par with no handicapping required. A perfect example is the generic International America&#8217;s Cup Class taken on board for yachts in the 1992 America&#8217;s Cup race.</p>
<p>As long as yachting was an activity largely for the royal and the affluent, cost was no object, and the size of boats grew, in both length and weight. The promotion and popularity of smaller craft happened in the latter half of the 19th century from the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A voyage around the world (1895–98) sailed single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray made plain the seaworthiness of small craft. Later in the 20th century, particularly after World War II, smaller racing and leisure yachts became more common, down to the dinghy, a favoured training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, craft of less than 3 m were setting sail single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of power yachts<br /></strong>After the decade 1840–50, in which steam began to emulate sail power in commercial vessels, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were increasingly favoured in personal yachts. Sizeable power yachts were developed to a high degree, and long-distance sailing became a preferred activity of the wealthy. The first power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; those then gave way to boats powered by the wholly submerged screw or propeller kind of propulsion. Like naval and merchant yachts, auxiliaries with both sail and power were the yacht archetype for a number of years. By the second half of the 20th century, a lot of yachts were still auxiliaries, but the majority were exclusively power yachts that had gasoline or diesel engines.</p>
<p>During the last decade of the 19th century there was a push in the design of bigger steam yachts. In particular of these was the Mayflower (1897) of 2,690 tons, with triple-expansion engines, twin screws, and a compartmented iron hull, and was operated by a crew of over 150. The Mayflower, purchased by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and gave active service in World War II.</p>
<p>As bigger and more reliable internal-combustion engines were produced, many bigger craft were using them for power. The development of the diesel engine, with heavy oil for fuel, was furthered for World War I. From the decade after, big power-yacht building flourished, climaxing in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. In that time the largest auxiliary yacht built was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.</p>
<p>The building of larger power yachts declined in 1932, and the fashion from then was toward smaller, less expensive boats. After World War II, many small naval vessels were sold to private owners for conversion to yachts. In the late 20th century, yachting had become a widespread loved sport enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen who are actually sailing and keeping their own small recreational craft. The amount of yachts and owners has increased steadily, not only in the traditional places along the sea but also on inland waterways and lakes.</p>

A proportional tax is the kind of tax that places the same relative liability on all taxpayers—i.e., in the case where tax liability and income move in equal scale. A progressive tax is recognisable by a larger than proportional rise in the tax liability in regard to the rise in income, and a regressive tax is recognisable by a less than proportional increase in the comparative burden. Therefore, progressive taxes are viewed as removing a lack of equality in income distribution, but regressive taxes might result in an increase these inequalities.</p>
<p>The taxes that are generally regarded as progressive include individual income taxes and estate taxes. Income taxes that are declarably progressive, however, may become less so within the upper-income class—in particular if a taxpayer is permitted to lessen his tax base by nominating deductions or by excluding particular income elements from his taxable income. <p>It is complicated to dictate corporate income taxes and taxes on business as progressive, regressive, or proportionate, because of uncertainty around the ability of businesses to shift their tax expenses (see below Shifting and incidence). A basic economic theorem grants that the marginal effective tax rate in income from capital is zero under a consumption-based tax.</p>
<p>Average income tax rates determine the part of total income that is demanded in taxation. The pattern of average rates is the one that is in consideration for appraising the distributional equity of taxation. Under a progressive income tax the average income tax rate rises with income. Average income tax rates generally grow with income, both because personal allowances are granted for the taxpayer and dependents and also due to that marginal tax rates are graduated; on the other hand, preferential treatment of income received fundamentally by high-income households can swamp these effects, producing regressivity, as displayed by average tax rates that decrease as income grows.</p>
